Frequently Asked Questions
About Greaseball & the sunburn posts
Sunny Paul makes sun protection visible and accessible in public spaces. We place smart suscreen poles in places where people congregate outdoors, such as amusement parks, beaches, city parks, sports clubs, festivals and municipalities.
Through these posts, visitors can use free sunscreen, so that rubbing in becomes as normal as washing hands. In this way, we actively contribute to the prevention of skin cancer and create a sun-safe environment.
Our sunscreen poles are professionally designed, hygienic to use and optionally branded for partners who want to combine social impact with visibility. We also supply separate smaller sunscreen dispensers and (personalized) tubes for organizations that want to offer their own sun protection.
In short, we make sure no one has to stand in the sun without protection.
Yes, we are proud sponsors of the Skin Fund and support their mission to prevent and detect skin cancer early.
We also actively collaborate with health organizations and community partners who are committed to skin cancer prevention and awareness around sun protection. Our sunburn posts are regularly placed in collaboration with municipalities, public health departments, prevention programs and charities that want to promote a sun-safe environment.
Our goal is not only to provide sunscreen, but also to raise awareness and structurally improve sun protection in public spaces.
Sunscreen poles are designed for anyone who is outside in the sun. From children playing and athletes to festival-goers and day-trippers at the beach.
We place the bollards in locations where many people congregate, such as municipalities, schools, sports clubs, recreational parks, campgrounds, events and business parks. Organizations that value a sun-safe environment deploy our bollards as an accessible amenity for their visitors or employees.
In short, the poles are for anyone who wants to protect themselves from the sun, and for any organization that takes sun protection seriously.
A sunscreen pole is a large free-standing dispenser pole that allows visitors to use sunscreen for free in public areas. You can find our posts in places where people spend a lot of time outdoors, such as amusement parks, beaches, city parks, sports fields, schoolyards and events.
How it works is simple: you hold your hand in the hole below the dispensing point and receive a measured amount of sunscreen. The cream is hygienically stored in a sealed system inside the pole and regularly checked and refilled.
Our sunscreen poles are robust, weatherproof and suitable for intensive use. In addition, they are Internet connected and therefore smart: via an online dashboard, we can monitor usage and replenish in time, among other things. This keeps the poles reliably available.
Optionally, they can be personalized with design or branding, combining sun protection with social visibility.
This is how we make lubrication easy, natural and accessible to everyone.
Yes, the use of our sunscreen poles is free of charge to the end user.
The sunscreen is provided free of charge at the location so that everyone can easily protect themselves from the sun. The cost is borne by the venue itself or by partners and sponsors who contribute to a sun-safe environment.
This is how we make lubrication approachable, natural and accessible to everyone.
The sunscreen
Our own Sunny Paul sunscreen has SPF 30.
We deliberately chose SPF 30 because it provides high and effective protection against UV A and UV B rays, while keeping the cream pleasantly spreadable and inviting sufficient and repeated use. SPF 30 blocks approximately 97 percent of UV B radiation. SPF 50 offers only a limited additional difference at about 98 percent.
In addition, a higher factor can sometimes give a sense of false security, causing people to stay in the sun longer or reapply less often. In practice, regular and sufficient application is at least as important as the highest factor.
The protection factor is tested according to European guidelines and the SPF stability test confirms that the factor is actually achieved.
When a sunscreen pole is sponsored by a cosmetics brand, the SPF may vary depending on the brand and the variant chosen. Even then, the sunscreen always complies with current European regulations.
We almost always work with our own Sunny Paul sunscreen. This is a high quality sunscreen that meets all current European cosmetic legislation and has been extensively tested for safety and effectiveness.
The cream is suitable for face and body and protects against both UV A and UV B radiation. The SPF stability test has been conducted and confirms that the protection factor is actually achieved. The formula is water-resistant and contains natural ingredients that are organic.
Our sunscreen is gluten and animal-free and contains no chemical or petrochemical synthetic derivatives, parabens, silicones, kerosene or vaseline. We consciously choose to formulate without unnecessary additives, paying attention to skin friendliness and quality.
Ingredients Comfrey: Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-3 Cetyl Ether Olivate/Succinate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide, Cera Alba, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Soybean Oil, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Polysorbate 20, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Zea Mays, C.I. 75130, Allantoin, Lactic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenethyl Alcohol.
In some cases we cooperate with cosmetic brands that sponsor a sunscreen pole. In that case, their own sunscreen is used in the post. Even then, we set strict requirements for quality, safety and compliance with European regulations.
This is how we ensure that everyone can rub in safely and with confidence.
